The YMCA offers a full-day private Kindergarten program at our Upper Main Line YMCAs that is recommended by kids - and their parents. Licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, here are five things parents and kids love about our program:

1. Extended Care is Included in Tuition
   With before and after school care, children are cared for from 7:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., which is a half-hour later than most afterschool programs in our area.
    
2. Extracurricular Activities & Field Trips – There is no shortage of ways for your child to grow and develop their talents:
    
   • Gymnastics and swimming lessons are included in the program with every child attending weekly classes. In addition, the YMCA takes care of getting your children to and from their lessons safe and sound during the school day - saving you from spending your evenings and weekends driving to and from activities. 
      
   • Weekly lessons in technology, art, music and library.
      
   • Several field trips per year and more.
      
3. Spanish Instruction
   Children receive Spanish language instruction one day a week for the first half of the year and two days a week for the second half of the year.
    
4. Enrollment Age
   Children can enroll if they will be 4 years and 7 months by the first day of school, which is younger than most programs.
    
5. Customized instruction for each child leading to academic success
   The academic progress of the 14 children enrolled in last year's class was off the charts:
   • 100% read at or above grade level
      
   • All improved their Benchmark testing scores—some by more than 60 points.
      
   • 85% were learning the first-grade curriculum, with half learning an advanced first-grade curriculum.

In addition, all subjects including language arts, writing, math, science and social studies are taught.
