2018 Community Partner Award Recipient NSM Insurance Group

Carol Maselli from NSM Insurance Group chats with teens at the Upper Main Line YMCA in Berwyn, PA.

The Community Partner Award recognizes an organization or group that has demonstrated a commitment to the YMCA’s mission and values and has partnered with or supported the Y in outreach initiatives that strengthen the foundations of our community.

NSM Insurance Group, recipient of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine’s Community Partner Award, is the leader in the development, implementation, marketing and underwriting of industry-specific insurance programs, but the family-run business remains focused on giving back to their community.

From our 7th Grade Initiative, which gives our seventh-graders a safe place to explore their independence with complimentary memberships to the Y, to the Power Scholars program, which helps to close the achievement gap and prevent summer learning loss in children, to our SPLASH program, which helps kids learn to be safe in and around water at no cost to them or their families, NSM has generously supported many efforts for the last eight years and is a reliable and valuable partner to the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.

“We are honored to receive this award,” says Carol Maselli, Account Executive, Behavioral Healthcare and Non-Profits at NSM. “We believe that with our success comes the responsibility to give back to the communities in which we live and work. We are committed to supporting and partnering with local organizations, like the Y, that are working to help and improve our communities.”

“NSM is a very caring organization,” Carol continues. “We understand how non-profits work, they need funds. And we want to give back. That is the biggest advantage of a family-run group—we are very fluid, flexible. We can look at programs and where the need is, and direct the focus.”

Like so many of us, Carol grew up with the Y, so she was thrilled that the YMCA account was assigned to her when she joined NSM four years ago. “It was nice to have an organization that I was familiar with,” Carol recalls. “And this Y has a wonderful group of people. They appreciate what we do and we certainly appreciate what they do, so it’s a win all around!”
