Halloween doesn't have to be just about candy! Join the YMCA of Greater Brandywine for a variety of Halloween activities across Chester County including spooky tours and haunted houses, dancing and jumping in moon bounces, face painting, costume competitions and more – there are lots of opportunities for family fun this fall at the Y.

Friday, October 19

  • Healthy Halloween at Lionville Community YMCA | 6 - 8 pm
    Join us for an evening of Halloween-themed games and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course and a kid-friendly Haunted Trail throughout the building.  

Saturday, October 20

  • Great Halloween Festival at Upper Main Line YMCA | 4 – 8 pm
    (Rain Date: Sunday, October 21, 3 - 7 pm)
    Grab a cape, hop on your broom and head over to the Y for a howling good time. Enjoy an evening of safe family fun activities at the largest Halloween event on the Main Line. All members and the public are invited to attend. Tickets: minimum donation fee $15/Family, $10/Individual. Proceeds benefit the annual campaign that funds our financial assistance program. All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Activities include:

    • Treat Trail - Travel through our 111-year old mansion and meet characters, hear stories and pick up treats and prizes. All ages. 
       
    • Horseman’s Haunted House - For those that are more daring and adventurous, make your way through the haunted carriage house, with scares around every corner! Recommended for ages 10 and up.
       
    • Pumpkin Decorating & Straw Bale Maze - Make your way through the maze and pick a pumpkin from our patch to decorate. But hurry, only while supplies last! One pumpkin per child.
       
    • Spooky Carnival Games  – Enjoy Halloween-themed games and activities with prizes. All ages.
       
    • Mad Scientist’s Lab - Join Professor JZ in her lab of science experiment oddities and wonder! All ages.
       
    • Zombie Archery - Take aim and let loose with real a real bow and arrow, led by a trained instructor. Recommended ages 7 & up.
       
    • Maze of Monsters - Who knows what lurks around the next turn as you decide which way to explore!  Recommended for ages 7 & up.
       
    • Escape Room - Can your family and friends beat the clock and solve the riddles and puzzles in time?
       
    • Live Birds of Prey - meet a professor from your favorite wizarding school and her friends from our Raptor Center!
       
    • Craft & Retail Vendors - Artists from around the area will display their crafts to help you start finding the perfect holiday gift for the ghoul or goblin in your life. Also includes face painting and temporary tattoos! *Additional fees apply to vendor products and activities.
       
    • Jack O’Lantern & Costume Contests - Bring your pumpkin and/or your costume to enter our contests.
       
    • Inflatable slide and obstacle course
       
    • Feed your family of hungry monsters with food trucks, providing dinner and dessert! 

Sunday, October 21

  • J5K and Kids Run hosted by Jennersville YMCA at Penn Township Park | 9 - 1 pm
    Join us for the third annual Jennersville Halloween 5K which begins at Penn Township Park and follows a scenic route through rolling farmlands featuring natural streams, ponds and shade trees along Jenner's Pond. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the Kids Race at 10 AM and the 5K at 10:15 AM. Pricing and additional details are available hereOne hundred percent of proceeds support the Jennersville YMCA Annual Campaign which directly supports our community. 

Friday, October 26

  • Healthy Halloween at Brandywine YMCA | 6:30 - 8:30 pm
    Everyone is invited to this free night of haunted trick-or-treating through our facility along with fun crafts, story time, photobooth, games and music. Come in costume for a ghoulishly good time. Attendees should bring their own bag for trick-or-treating. 

Saturday, October 27

  • Healthy Halloween at Kennett Area YMCA | 6 - 8 pm
    Join us for a spooktacular evening, filled with face painting, pumpkin bowling, a haunted house, DJ, bounce house and crafts - including ooey-gooey slime! Wear your costume to participate in the costume contest. 
     
  • Healthy Halloween at West Chester Area YMCA | 6 - 8 pm
    Explore our Mad Scientists Lab and kid-friendly Haunted House at our Healthy Halloween celebration! Then have a monstrously good time with our bounce house, face painting, crafts and Halloween-themed games.
