Terri Edgar has been a part of the West Chester Area YMCA team since 2012. She started as the Director of Operations and moved into the role of Executive Director in 2013. Terri started her career in the YMCA of Delaware in 1988, where she was a lifeguard, swim instructor, swim team coach, aquatic director, senior program director and associate executive director. Terri lives in West Chester with her family and is now a swim team parent, cheering on the Marlins at their meets. Every once in a while, you'll see her on the deck helping swimmers with their form or just giving swimmers high fives. You may also see Terri on a mat next to you in gentle yoga or standing next to you in BODYCOMBAT or Zumba. Terri serves on the Women Influencing Business Committee of the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry and works with our Board of Advisors to lead our community outreach and fundraising efforts at the West Chester Area YMCA. Terri is an Organizational Leader and Faculty level trainer for the YMCA of the USA and recently served on a Diversity and Inclusion Task Force for the YMCA of the USA. Terri was the recipient of the John Wanamaker and George Corsan Awards from the Association of YMCA Professionals (AYP) Liberty Trails Chapter, where she also served on the board from 2010-2013. She was the recipient of the Role Model of the Year Award for the YMCA of Delaware in 2006.
In her free time, Terri enjoys gardening and spending time exploring beautiful Chester County with her family, and is especially happy when everyone avoids poison ivy on their hikes through their neighborhood. In her free time, she loves spending time in the borough of West Chester, exploring different restaurants and specialty shops.

Laura teaches a variety of classes, with some of her favorites being yoga, Zumba, Pilates and hula hooping. She received her BS from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, her national accreditation in personal training from the American Council on Exercise in 1997 and in 2012, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania - Stress Management Program. Laura has received several awards, including the Association of Y Professional Award of Excellence in Programming and the Rising Star Award from the YMCA of Delaware.
