YOUTH SPORTS

All kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. At the YMCA of Greater Brandywine our sports program is built on the foundational philosophy that kids should develop the ability, confidence, and desire to be active for life. Our goal, to provide a high-quality program for our participants, families, staff and volunteers is guided by the following principles:

  • All children deserve an opportunity to participate
  • Program design takes into account mental, emotional, and physical stages of development, and gradually builds on each
  • The sports experience fulfills the priorities as viewed by the child
  • Sport sampling develops athletes-for-life
  • Participants benefit from the leadership of trained, competent, and confident coaches
  • Athletes develop from a combination of structured and unstructured play
  • The program incorporates sport, play, and core values education in a “whole-person” approach

Offering soccer, t-ball/baseball, volleyball, flag football, tennis, basketball  -  check out the youth sports programs at your branch and get in the game! Register now, view the options listed below or visit your Member Service desk for more information.
