Mini - Year-Round
The Mini group is for swimmers ages 5-10 who have little to no experience in competitive swimming and are interested in having fun learning competitive swimming skills. This group?s focus is on learning all four competitive strokes. Swimmers will have opportunities to swim in mini-meets, and dual meets. The Mini?s will practice 3 hours a week with in the water instruction. It is recommended that the mini swimmers attend 2 of the 3 practices a week. Swimmers should be able to swim 25 yards (1 length) of freestyle (with rotary breathing) without stopping and with their face in the water, swim 25 yard (1 length) of backstroke, and swimmers must attempt a length of breaststroke and butterfly. The swimmer must know what breaststroke and butterfly are when asked. It does not need to be legal but the swimmer must have knowledge of both strokes when asked to swim a length of each.
