Saturday Night Lights is The Place to be For Teenagers

Summer camps provide kids and teens with fun, adventure and growth

Join in on a pick-up basketball game, jump in the pool and go for a swim or compete with your friends in, well, just about everything. Not your style? That’s fine, just hang out and relax for a couple of hours.

Chances are, you can find something to do on a Saturday night, thanks to the YMCA of Greater Brandywine’s Saturday Night Lights program. The Y transforms into a personal hangout spot for kids in grades 6-9, and they’re paired off into age-appropriate groups under the supervision of the YMCA’s top-notch staff. A parental waiver is required, then kept on file.

No matter your favorite activity, you’ll find something that you like at the YMCA from 7 - 10 PM on a Saturday night this fall and winter. The basketball court’s open, just begging to be used for a game among friends. Want a taste of summer? Go for a dip in the pool. Do some homework, play board games or just kick back and unwind in the lounge. Break a sweat by getting a workout in. Saturdays are supposed to be fun, and there’s no better way to cap them off than by hanging out at the Y for a couple of hours.

Branches of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine will be open on alternating Saturdays - some on the first and third Saturdays of the month, others on the second and fourth - which means there’s almost always somewhere for kids to go on a Saturday night.
