When do program sessions run?
YMCA program sessions run six times a year for seven weeks each. The sessions include Early Spring, Late Spring, Summer (note that our Summer session varies and is usually shorter in length), Early Fall, Late Fall and Winter.

When will registration be open for the summer session? When will it close?

  • Registration for summer programs opens for everyone on Monday, May 6.
  • Registration for summer programs closes online on Sunday, June 16 and in branch on Sunday, June 30. Please note that accelerated swim lessons are offered throughout the summer. These are lessons offered over the course of two or four weeks. Registration for these lessons closes after the second class in the offering has occurred.

Why was this changed?
This change is being made in response to feedback we’ve received. Many have requested program listings be provided earlier and registration be open longer, giving everyone more time and flexibility to plan and register when it is convenient.

When will summer programs start?
Programs will begin as planned, during the week of June 17.

Where can I find a listing of summer programs?
Summer programs will be listed on our website by Saturday, May 4.

Where can I find a schedule of program session and registration dates?
You can find a schedule here.

What happens to priority registration, member registration and non-member registration periods?
Registration will open for everyone on the same date. Very few have taken advantage of the different registration windows with most registering shortly before programs begin. We do not anticipate challenges in you being able to register for the programs you want.

Do YMCA members still receive discounts on YMCA programs?
Absolutely. Members will continue to receive the member rate for programs.

Does this impact all branches of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine?
Yes, this change impacts all branches of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.

Who do I contact if I have questions?
Please visit or call the member services desk at your local branch.
