Memberships & Programs

When our neighbors cannot afford the opportunity to thrive and commit to a healthy lifestyle, where do they go? They come to the YMCA. Your donations can provide the opportunity for a healthy lifestyle and enrichment for adults, seniors, families and children in Chester County.

We provide income-based memberships and YMCA programs, at a discounted rate, to individuals and families who meet the eligibility requirements and would like assistance. Programs include swim lessons, stem programs, childcare, sports leagues and so many more. You can make a difference and provide security, safe spaces and enrichment to your neighbors in Chester County. Read how Veronica's circumstances changed and the Y was there for her.

7th Grade Initiative & Saturday Night Lights

The YMCA knows that as kids face adolescence’s challenges, they are more likely to begin distancing themselves from formal organizations, friends and family and to experiment with unhealthy behaviors. We believe it's crucial to set the foundation for a healthy lifestyle at a young age.

The 7th Grade Initiative offers a complimentary membership to seventh-graders where they can make new friends, discover their passions and develop a healthy lifestyle. Saturday Night Lights offers a safe place on Saturday nights for kids in grades 4 - 12 to hang out with friends, shoot hoops, play board games, swim and more.

Summer Camp

You can provide opportunities for kids in Chester County to go to summer camp. The YMCA's foundation is For Youth Development. For Healthy Living. For Social Responsibility. YMCA summer camps provide children with positive and fun experiences that build confidence, new friendships and a feeling of community that will last beyond the summer in a safe and healthy environment. Provide your neighbors with peace of mind that their kids are safe and in good hands during the summer months.

Power Scholars

This five-week summer program works to close the achievement gap by offering math and reading instruction and fostering social growth through field trips and career exploration. The program is offered at no cost to the children and their families, with the YMCA raising all needed funds.

Believe & Achieve

This fully-subsidized program provides afterschool enrichment and summer camp for children who are from low-income households. Y programs strive to develop the total child, with particular emphasis on educational, physical, emotional and social skills necessary for success in the coming school years.

Splash! Program

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children 1 - 4 years old, and the second leading cause of accidental death in children 5 - 14. That's why the YMCA offers its Splash! Safety Around Water program, which enables kids to learn how to be safe in and around water at no cost. The Y partners with more than 10 local school districts, as well as some churches and private schools, to bring second through fifth grade children onsite for this program.
