13,000 Diapers Collected During February Diaper Drive

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), a nonprofit association of eight YMCA branches in Chester County, has successfully concluded its February diaper drive.

Over 13,000 diapers of all types and sizes were collected throughout the county and shared with our community partners, the Chester County Office of Children Youth and Family and Chester County Women’s Services, for distribution. More than 1,300 families will benefit from the drive, using the typical distribution method - packs of 10.

“It’s like Christmas for us” noted Suzanne Thompson, from the Office of Children, Youth and Families. “You have no idea how much we needed these diapers and we can’t say thank you enough!”

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is grateful to our staff and members who have fully supported this community initiative. Plans are in place to continue to run association-wide community events throughout the year.

Currently, a Food Drive occurs each Friday at the Oscar Lasko YMCA and Childcare Center, for those able to donate and those in need. Visit our event calendar for more details.
