Five Ways to Be a Superhero

Superheroes Celebrate our Annual Campaign

At the YMCA, everyone has the chance to be a superhero.

Every day in our branches, superheroes teach children how to be safe around water, how to develop teamwork and how to be inclusive. Superheroes volunteer to serve on our board, participate in service projects and contribute to our Financial Assistance program. Superheroes bring our mission to life so that we can serve all.

With our Annual Campaign about to kick off, we invite you to join us on our quest to spread health, kindness and community across Chester County. Here's how you can help!

  1. Spread the Word about our Financial Assistance Program
The first and easiest way that you can be a superhero is to tell your friends and family about our Financial Assistance program. Our Financial Assistance Program ensures that vital Y services are available when families need us most. Thanks to our Financial Assistance Program, we've helped families facing life-altering medical diagnoses, unexpected unemployment and other hardships.

When you tell others about our program, you help us connect with those in need.

  2. Tell your Y Story
Being a superhero is as easy as sharing your Y Story. Why are you a Y member? What does the Y mean to you? How has the Y improved your life?

By sharing your Y Story, you help potential donors and volunteers understand the impact that the YMCA has in the Chester County community. This helps us grow and extend our reach to those who need us most. If you have a Y Story to share, stop by the membership desk or contact us.

  3. Take a Superhero Selfie
To celebrate our Annual Campaign Kick-Off, be on the lookout for fun decorations and superhero cutouts - coming soon to a YMCA lobby near you! Be sure to grab a selfie with your favorite hero (YMCA staff included).

  4. Volunteer to Help with our Annual Campaign
Our Annual Campaign is run by staff and volunteers - and we'd love to have more help! To get involved with our Annual Campaign, stop by the membership desk or contact our Mission Advancement team.

  5. Donate to our Annual Campaign
The YMCA of Greater Brandywine does not turn away anyone due to an inability to pay. When life presents challenges, we extend a helping hand.

Last year, our Financial Assistance program enabled us to send 330 children to camp who would not have been able to go otherwise. Our services are vital to Youth Development - and enable parents to hold steady jobs.

You can be a superhero by donating to our Financial Assistance program. No matter how much you give, every dollar goes back to the community. Communities are strongest when all have the chance to thrive. Donate today to help a neighbor in need.
